On January 23rd, we will be hosting a webinar: “Up Your Skills on Business of Baseball Research”. The ideal outcomes from the webinar are:
- Awareness of resources or ideas for you to use in staying abreast of business of baseball news.
- Volunteers to upkeep a potential business of baseball news blog.

Should Marvin Miller and/or George Steinbrenner be elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame (HOF)? Both appear on the 2010 Expansion Era ballot. Voting occurs December 5th with the announcement on December 6th. The SABR Business of Baseball committee polled its members to find out what their votes are.
In a nutshell, we found that committee members believe Marvin Miller should be elected to the HOF, but that George Steinbrenner should not be elected to the HOF.

Can We Count On Your Involvement in Winter Meetings Book? |

We seek you as a volunteer to help write a book about the history of the Winter Meetings. The concept is to write a 3-5 page summary of each particular winter meeting – which would be deemed a book chapter. There will be plenty of opportunities, and we can find a role for anyone who wishes to be involved as an author, editor/reader, researcher, etc. Prior experience with this type of project is not a requirement. Individuals looking to "cut their teeth" are welcome.
