The committee has produced two newsletters thru June, 2005 and should have the third by late July, 2005. Members have been active throughout the year answering inquiries from other SABR members, journalists, students, player’s relatives, public relations personnel and others as they arrive. This has been a great service shared by those with expertise to solve problems as well as create a sound service reputation by SABR. Many research projects continue: examples include Lloyd Johnson’s coordination of the Encyclopedia of Minor League Baseball. This massive undertaking has had many contributors to its update. Other efforts are part of larger projects, as Marc Okkonen’s roster compilation; Bill McMahon’s team affiliations through the years: Carlos Bauer’s guide to minor league statistics; Brent Gambill’s researching minor league teams who have their own Halls of Fame and their members; and Ted Lukacs’ update of his ballpark research. There are many other individuals researching player, team, league and general histories of the minor leagues. Respectfully Submitted, John Schleppi |
