The minor league statistics project has published statistics for 8 additional league-seasons, bringing the overall total to date to a nice round 300 leagues.  The new entries are:

  • 1948 Pacific Coast League
  • 1957 International League
  • 1997 Pioneer League
  • 1998 Pioneer League
  • 1999 Pioneer League
  • 1999 Northern League (Central Division)
  • 2000 Pioneer League
  • 2001 Pioneer League

The updated statistics are available via the SABR Encyclopedia, and will post to baseball-reference.com within the coming days.

Cliff Blau, Art Cantu, and Stephen Davis deserve thanks for bringing these data to the web.

The addition of the 1957 IL completes our run of the 1950s top-level minor leagues, which have now all been proofed. This does not mean that these statistics are the last word on that era, however. There remain many opportunities for researchers to get involved in improving our knowledge of that important era; for instance, most of those leagues lack complete team pitching statistics, and less-thans are missing for many as well.  The project has published the "current best available" statistical information, and we're committed to improving continually on that solid foundation with the help of the research community.
