The minor league historical statistics project is pleased to announce the publication of statistical totals from eight leagues. Newly published today are balanced statistics from the 2000-2003 South Atlantic League and the 2000 Florida State League. In addition, proofed statistics from the 1956 American Association, International League, and Pacific Coast League are available. The 1956 leagues build on our coverage of that era's AAA leagues, which is a focus area for 2010. The statistical tabulations published in that era generally omitted players in less than ten games, and also generally lacked pitching team totals. These leagues would prove fertile ground for researchers interested in becoming active in working with game-level data to help fill the gaps.
These updates are reflected in the SABR Encyclopedia, and bring our total of leagues which have completed the review process up to 247.
Credit for today's new additions goes out to Cliff Blau, Art Cantu, Stephen Davis, and Frank Hamilton. If you are interested in volunteering, contact the SABR Encyclopedia editors at
