Japanese baseball has a rich history dating back to the 1870s. By the early twetieth century, baseball was the most popular sport in Japan and professional leagues were established in 1936. Japan is primarily responsible for the spread of baseball across Asia. Many members of the Asian Baseball Committee focus on Japanese baseball. Indeed, Tokyo has its own SABR Chapter. |
